The NHL has just announced it is opening its newest and biggest game at the Forum, a 30,000-seat arena built in the 1970s for the Philadelphia Flyers.
A lot of the seating is still covered with snow, but this time around the players will wear their snow boots and wear them during the game.
“It’s a little bit of a different look, but we think it’s a really good idea,” NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said.
“We think it works.”
The NHL says it is the first of its kind in North America and will be the first NHL game to be played outdoors.
There will be a full day of game operations and the first day of pregame festivities will include a ribbon cutting and ceremony, as well as the announcement of the host city and the opening night for the new NHL.
