The Farmhouse, a staple of the city for decades, will soon return to its downtown watering hole.

The cafe is expected to reopen in the coming weeks as part of a renovation.

The coffee and food chain has been operating in the downtown plaza for more than 40 years.

It is owned by the city of Seattle, which plans to lease it out to private parties.

The new location is located at 2520 Broadway, across from a Starbucks and a Target.

The Farmhouse CafePress will reopen at noon on Monday, Oct. 1.

A new cafe and a bakery are planned to open in the space on October 8.

The location is being developed by Caren Williams Architects.

Caren Williams says the plan is to use a combination of public art, street art and an outdoor patio.
